This tiny booklet is based on a paper read in Philadelphia on April 18, 1912 by Sydney George Fisher. (See Proceedings: American Philosophical Society, Vol li, 1912).
Fisher's thesis was that the story of the American Revolution as told in his day, was lop-sided and wrong, and needed to be rewritten. He felt strongly that the story of the American Revolution should include the drama, the melodrama, the Quakers and Tories, and theorized that the earlier histories had been deliberately slanted to draw the wobbly new nation together.
Fisher's 1902 book, "The True History of the American Revolution" was rejected by scholars of his own day as incompetent popular history based on poor sources and misleading readings.
This talk is Fisher's answer to his critics. It seems surprisingly modern in its approach and will have 21st century readers nodding in agreement.
