The selection of words to learn is unusually good for instructional materials, and the sentences offered along with the words really helps. A Latina bank teller showed this to me and it's kickstarting my return to learning Spanish. I'm finding I'm feeling more easily conversational around native speakers, though i realize the total learning process will take time. But the one-word-at-a-time approach makes it much more manageable, less daunting. It's a bit more like how kids learn to speak growing up ... a word starts being highlighted in their minds, and they're hearing it in a sentence, and they start to get it, and at some point they're just saying it.Product details

I enjoy using it. Like the way it is organized, the pronunciation help, and that they often tie the word of the day to a holiday or the time of year.
These calendars have improved over the years with full sentences with phonetic transcription. They still,however use only English to name the days which isn't helpful.
Good learning tool. The months and days should be in Spanish, not Englishr
It is a great calendar as it gives you words that would not necessarily appear in a structured class. The pronunciation guide is spot-on. Great gift for someone that wants to improve their vocabulary. The calendar is a bit advanced for beginners.
The best of the Spanish word a day calendars with phonetic spelling of all the words in an useful sentence. Useful phrases (not just drink orders and pickup lines like "what breed is your cute dog.") This calendar really is useful in beginning Spanish or keeping skill level active.
I've been getting the Living Language calendar for years but decided to switch just for a change. What a bust! How can you reinforce the names of the days of the week and the names of the months when they're in English! Crazy.
Okay for the price, but just black and white text on plain paper so I am being a little generous with the stars--just to let you know in case you are expecting something colorful on glossy paper. Each calendar day has a new word and definition on it, and what I like is that the level of the sentences is mostly intermediate instead of just being first semester Spanish. However, this calendar is also good for both beginners and intermediate since its a good opportunity to learn or refresh on vocabulary. A little bigger than most desk calendars with a nice layout and typeset.
